Set up Snap Pixel

Get started with Snapchat server-side tracking by configuring Snap Pixel. This guide provides you with a clear, step-by-step process for installing it via Google Tag Manager (GTM) and TAGGRS. It also includes additional sources to dive deeper into the topic.

Create your Snap Pixel

  1. Log in to

    Snapchat Business Manager.

  2. Go to Business Settings → Pixels.
  3. Click Create Pixel, give it a name, and associate it with the relevant Ad Account.

Copy your Pixel ID

  1. After creating the Pixel, select View Pixel Events.
  2. Copy your Pixel ID for use in GTM.

Add Snap Pixel to GTM web container

  1. In GTM, go to Tags → New.
  2. Name the tag (e.g., "Snap Pixel - All Pages").
  3. Click Tag Configuration and select Snap Pixel from the template gallery or use Custom HTML if needed.
  4. Paste your Pixel ID in the configuration.

Configure event type

Select the event type you want to track (e.g. page view).

Extra tip: For general tracking, you can choose All Pages as the trigger.

Save, test, and publish

  1. Save the tag.
  2. Use GTM Preview mode to confirm the Pixel fires on all intended pages.
  3. Publish your container.
  4. Validate installation in Snapchat Events Manager.
